Latest Animation

This is my latest attempt on my animation video. I created this a few weeks ago now and thought I would put on here for any feedback.

First Animation

For the past few weeks I have been working on creating a 30 second long animation. The program I used to create my animation was Adobe After-effects which I found very interesting to use as it was the 1st time I have used the program. To get started and to get used to the program I decided to fiddle around with some images in Adobe Photoshop and crop them, so that they fitted into my animation and from that, I then transformed images within after-effects to create a short video so that I could get used to the program.

Interactive Website

The past few weeks I have been creating an interactive website using anchors to get the user from one URL to another. At first, I thought about drawing maps upon the background image and giving them behaviours so that the image was changed when the cursor hovered over the map and when clicked upon it would take the user to the URL. However, when I started using the maps I realised it has limitations in creating a website as it is part of the JavaScript program. So, what I have decided to do is to use anchors for this interactive website because it will allow the user an easy usage of the website and also allows me to create the website in code form on Dreamweaver rather than just doing it by design form as this can lead to difficulties when something doesn't work and you cannot alter the mistake as you do not quite understand what the code means.

Since I have had this difficulty I have been looking into other forms of creating websites and I have come across a program called “JQuery" which allows you to create new aspect in website design but also shows you how to create it in code form. Another bonus about “JQuery" is that you can download it for free as long as you have Dreamweaver to apply it into. To download “JQuery” visit link: http://jquery.com/

My review of a NTU Multimedia graduate

When looking through the list of NTU Multimedia graduates I was especially intrigued by the work of Edward Christie who is working for The Moving Picture Company (MPC)(http://www.moving-picture.com/) which is a post production facility specialized in digital visual effects and computer animation for feature films, commercials, music videos and television programs.

Edward is currently working for MPC doing animation and visual effects. He is currently one of the team working on the new Ridley Scott film which has been thought to be a new Blade Runner film.

From seeing the work that Edward is involved with it makes me want to also be apart of creating work similar to that produced at the Moving Picture Company and I hope to achieve these skills while on my course at Nottingham Trent University.

Previous to this I studied at Birchwood High School where, for my final year project, I created an installation which was influenced by a window display I found whilst researching the project.

And the film, Barton Fink, directed by the Coen Brothers, in 1991

It was interesting to construct the final installation and see the elements come together after I'd spent a long time creating the idea in my head and developing a project book.
